Findings????

Well the more detailed stuff confused my brain and I looked it up and I kept smelling burnt toast... No I did not have a stroke but after struggling with Left hand frustration of taking ten times longer to do a picture than usual it would have these smells appear.

Phantosmia (phantom smell), also called an olfactory hallucination or a phantom odor, is smelling an odor that is not actually there. This is intrinsically suspicious as the formal evaluation and detection of relatively low levels of odour particles is itself a very tricky task in air epistemology.

Another symptom or result was the right eye would weep a little like it was struggling.

I could also feel the right side of my brain feeling itchy which is strange like it was being stimulated.

Another thing... after a couple of hours of left hand concentration on a drawing when I would do a mundane task like make a cup of coffee. My brain would confuse the hands I was using. It was not enough confusion to drop things, but it rewired quickly when being decisive. I would do things more confidently with my left hand as if it were as natural and automatic as the right hand. For example I would never throw rubbish into a bin using my left hand as it would be a FAIL 90 percent of the time. The Right hand would nail the throw with the most accuracy. So after the left hand drawings my left hand would throw the rubbish into the bin as confidently, as if it were the right with the same amount of accuracy. My guess is that it was preforming the automatic thought with righthand confidence.

Almost as if it tricked itself into thinking it was the right hand while being the left.

Anyway observations, Allegedly using your non dominant hand once a day to do something like writing or drawing, is a method to stem the onset of dementia or memory loss. Just goes to show the brain craves the easiest path of living and doing things in the physical world.

Hence why we never use a side of our brain that would be a struggle as it would be seen as a regression in life and not a perfecting of the most developed skilled hand. Our life and death mode of throwing a spear at a predator, or to kill a deer for dinner would have programmed the brain, (over thousands of years) to never use the other less dominant and inaccurate hand for fear of starvation or letting the tribe down,

So its been an interesting month, got a lot of interesting pictures that have reinspired the ability to be more expressive and less judgemental on the art of expression. The art of Sumi-e and Japanese pen and ink wash is very impressionistic style so it suits starting off with the left hand.

Somehow its rejuvenated my inner child of zero limits of the imagination and lowered the expectations, increased expression and evolved my style into a new realm.

So you can experiment for yourselves see what you get out of it.. Just prepare to be very patient and take breaks on the journey through the non dominant hand learning.
